Emergency Food Assistance

Unemployment and a tough economy have forced a record number of people and families to seek emergency food assistance. Committed to the mission that no one in our community should go hungry, Community Food Pantry offers a friendly smile, a reassuring word, and a bag full of staple groceries to help those who need food support for themselves and/or their families. It doesn’t matter where people have been or what they have done, all are welcome at Community Food Pantry. In accordance with Federal civil rights law and USDA civil rights regulations and policies, the Community Food Pantry in Tool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability or sex.

Monthly Cooking Classes

Nutritional and tasty meals are demonstrated utilizing the ingredients provided in the Food Pantry.  Participants sample the food and carry home a bag of groceries to prepare recipes learned.  The goal is to provide education and develop self-esteem and confidence through cooking.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

The Community Food Pantry helps connect people with benefits they may be eligible for, such as SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps, helping them feed themselves and their families. A volunteer Outreach Specialist can help complete an application by phone or personal visit for those in our service area.
